Excise fund monitoring has been launched!

In 16 communes around Poland, excise fund monitoring has been launched. The residents and local non-governmental organisations will be checking what the money from the excise fund is spent on.

What is the scope of our monitor activities? We monitor a small fragment of the commune’s budget originating from charges for alcohol sale permits. The funds obtained in such a manner should be allocated for the activities designed within the Communal Programmes for Prevention and Solving Alcohol-related Problems and Drug Abuse Prevention Programmes, i.e. are regulated by the Law on up-bringing in sobriety and counteracting alcoholism.

Each person taking part in the monitoring activities will check what the money from the excise fund is actually allocated for. The quality of funds administration will also be subject to control. The monitoring activities are to be conducted by means of the Internet until the end of 2011. The progress results will be provided on an up-to-date basis.
